Internship: Hyun sun Kim

Mentored by Professor Kim Hyun-Sun at Hongik University International Design School, the project involved serving as a researcher and trend analyst in the 2026 Seoul Color Development Project, which sought to define a color representing the culture and memory of Seoul. Urban color palettes were proposed to capture both post-pandemic hope and the global influence of K-culture. Drawing on prior research, South Korean Modern Art and Its Impacts on Democratization, a symbolic palette of purple and white stripes was suggested to reflect the issue of martial law, with white representing Seoul citizens resisting governmental injustice. The experience also included assisting in the curation of a design exhibition at the Seoul Design Center, focused on urban color identity and public art.
